Ooooooohhhhhh my gosh. Friends. Look:

I made buttons.

From left to right, these buttons inject install scripts, event scripts, install and event scripts, reinstall (remove first then event and install scripts), remove scripts, compiles the cosfile (same as drag-and-dropping it on monk) and launch DS.

And this was so much easier than expected. It turns out not plugins, but macros were the answer. Between that and the console plugin, my linux-development life just got a lot easier.

The macros are really simple! Most of them are just a couple lines like this:

And then from within jEdit’s settings, you can attach a macro to a custom icon and stick it on your toolbar!

I’m so overwhelmingly thrilled about this. I think my linux development flow is about to become even easier than my windows setup ever was. Especially since there’s so much more I can do with macros, like use them to auto insert templates for complex commands or scripts that I reuse a lot.

I can’t wait to see where this goes!
